PURPOSE:To easily draw out an excess length from an airtight chamber by carrying out sealing with the use of the airtight chamber instead of sealing the inside of a terminal case with a resin. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical terminal case 2 is airtightly and liq.-tightly fixed to the tip of the optical cable 1, the cores 5 of respective optical fibers are drawn out from the end of the sheath 4 of the optical cable 1 into the terminal case 2, the open end of the terminal case 2 is airtightly and liq.-tightly sealed by an end plate 8, and the airtight chamber 9 is formed in the case 2. The respective cores 5 are airtightly and liq.-tightly pierced through the end plate 8 from the airtight chamber 9, and drawn out. Since a resin is not filled in the terminal case 2 and the airtight chamber 9 is used instead, the excess length of the optical fiber core 5 can be easily taken out when needed.
