PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive liquid-leakproof alkaline battery by passing a vessel type metal terminal, which is filled with malleable metals, through a battery jar interposed between gaskets or metal washers, and being compressed and sealed. CONSTITUTION:A vessel type metal terminal 1, filling metals 2 with good malleability, gaskets 3, a battery jar 4 and a lead plate 5 are provided. If the battery jar 4 is made of metal or thermoplastic resin, Ni-soldered iron is used for the battery jar 4, where metals 2 such as Pb, Sb, Sn, Al, Cd, Ag or their alloys are filled in the vessel part. Since the malleable metals 2 are filled inside the vessel type metal terminal 1, a uniformly pressed force is imposed upon inside the terminal 1 resulting in a completely liquid-leakproof, compressed and sealed surface in contact with terminal 1, gaskets 3 and battery jar 4. By the arrangement, an inexpensive liquid-leakproof enclosed type alkali battery is obtained. |
