The invention relates to a device capable of outputting a stabilised-voltage direct current from an alternating-current mains. It consists of a rectifier bridge comprising the diodes 4, 5, 6 and 7 which charge a bridge-type self-oscillator converter comprising the transistors 15 and 17 associated with the capacitors 23 and 24, which bridge delivers a primary current to the transformer 21. The voltage developed between the terminals of the secondary 20 charges a rectifier bridge comprising the diodes 25, 26, 27 and 28. This rectifier bridge itself charges a storage element 31 whose voltage is stabilised by the transistor 33 which momentarily disables operation of the said self-oscillator, thereby ensuring the stabilising of the output voltage. The device can be used to recharge batteries, supply HI-FI systems, microcomputers, etc.. <IMAGE>
