PURPOSE:To produce a ceramic member having superior resistance to repeated thermal stress, by thermally spraying ceramic powder on the surface of die materials whose surface shape coincides with the prescribed external shape of the ceramic member to be produced to form a thin film and by removing the die materials. CONSTITUTION:A metallic zinc material is worked by press working, welding or other method to produce die materials 10. Powder of stabilized zirconia or the like is thermally sprayed on the inside of the die materials 10 with plasma or the like to form a coating layer 12 of zirconia or the like. The resulting half-finished product is put in a heat treating furnace 13 and heated to about 1,200K. By this heating, the die materials 10 is melted, evaporated, removed from the layer 12 and discharged from the bottom outlets 14 of the furnace 13 and only the layer 12 remains in the furnace 13. The layer 12 is taken out and pickled with aqua regia or the like to remove the residue after melting. The layer 12 is then finish-worked by pickling or other method to complete a crucible 12.
