The present invention relates to an air-conditioning system for vehicles propelled by an internal combustion engine. In accordance with the invention the refrigerating circuit is of the absorption type, the boiler 1 of the said circuit being heated by the heat energy dissipated by the internal combustion engine and preferably made up of a heat exchanger 2 traversed by the water of the cooling circuit drawn off between the engine block. The air-conditioning system with an absorption circuit in accordance with the invention consumes power which is dissipated in vehicles with an internal combustion engine. <IMAGE>
