PURPOSE:To facilitate the driving of a cold-cathode tube, to facilitate the connection between a liquid crystal display element and a driving circuit, and to simplify the constitution of a liquid crystal display device by bending the back light of the liquid crystal display device so that the electrodes of the cold-cathode tube is positioned at the same side. CONSTITUTION:The back light of the liquid crystal display device consists of the cold-cathode tube 1, a reflecting plate 3, and a diffusing plate 4, the cold-cathode tube 1 is formed in a U shape, a rectangular U shape, or a similar shape, and the electrodes 2 of the cold-cathode tube 1 are provided on only one side. This back light is arranged between the liquid crystal display element 7 and a printed board 8 and the electrodes 2 are fixed to the substrate 8. Further, the display element 7 and substrate 8 are connected together by film connectors 6a and 9b. Then the electrodes 2 of the back light are provided on only the one side to facilitate the driving of the cold-cathode tube 1, facilitate the connection between the display element 7 and driving circuit (substrate 8), and to simplify the constitution of the display device, thereby improving the reliability. |
