The disengagement device for a pull-action friction clutch comprises a release bearing (25) pre-installed in the clutch (1) and a release fork (29) which forms a single unit with a bearing bracket (27). The unit consisting of the bearing bracket (27) and the release fork (29) can be inserted from the outside through an opening (59) in a housing (17) surrounding the clutch (1) and is fastened from outside by means of screws (71). The unit consisting of the bearing bracket (27) and the release fork (29) is installed after the engine and gear box have already been connected to one another. Removal is equally unproblematic by reversing the sequence of operations. <IMAGE>
