A spring for the frictional locking of the sun-visor body of a motor-vehicle sun visor against rotation on a holding rod with a non-circular cross-section, in particular one which is flattened at least on one side. The spring is composed of a spring plate which is bent to give an essentially U-shaped cross-section with a constriction. In the mounted condition the spring and its web (14) form a clamping mount for the holding rod, while the ends of the legs (16, 18) are hooked to each other. The intention is for the spring to permit the sun-visor body, as it approaches a latching position, to spring with the strongest possible torque into said position. For this purpose, the smallest, diametrical transverse dimension (30) of the clamping mount (14, 24) lies obliquely with respect to the centre line (12) of the U-shaped cross-section of the spring (10). The constricted shape of the spring cross-section makes deflections of the legs (16, 18) outwards transversely to the centre line (12) more difficult. The hooking of the free ends of the legs (16, 18) is, however, configured in such a manner that movability in the direction of the centre line (12) is ensured. For the mounting, the spring (10) needs to be inserted in such a manner into a pocket of a bearing body just by its lower end (28) that the axis of the clamping mount (14, 24) is essentially in alignment with the bearing hole, and the holding rod can then be inserted axially into the bearing hole and the spring. <IMAGE>
