PURPOSE:To improve the solubility and dispersibility of a slightly water soluble photographic additive, the aging stability and color developing property of the additive in a dispersed state by forming a hydrophilic org. colloidal layer contg. the photographic additive dispersed with phthalic ester. CONSTITUTION:A hydrophilic org. colloidal layer contg. a photographic additive dispersed with phthalic ester represented by the formula (where each of R1 and R2 is 7C branched chain alkyl, and may be the same or different with each other) is formed. The phthalic ester in the colloidal layer improves the solubility and dispersibility of the slightly water soluble photographic additive, the aging stability and color developing property of the additive in the dispersed state and the shelf stability of a latent image. The phthalic ester inhibits the fading of a color image due to light, heat and moisture and can prevent staining. When a color sensitive material is produced, it is used as a negative film, a reversal film, color photographic printing paper, a negative or positive film for a movie or the like. When a black-and-white sensitive material is produced, it is used as a negative film, an X-ray film, printing, photographic printing paper or the like.
