<p>The invention concerns an improved apparatus used to manufacture cables (15) having their core (5) provided with grooves (6), in the form of an open helix, which contain optical fibers (3). The improvement consists in the adoption of optical systems (17, 18, 19, 20) able to detect the deviation of the optical fibers from a pre-established catenary configuration in the part of the apparatus in which they are not guided or supported. On the ground of said determination, the speed at which the optical fibers are paid off from the coils (1) encasing them is varied to obtain again the desired pre-established catenary configuration.</p> |
