A bio-climatic condition is created in a room by an electrode system at a high negative D.C. potential, the system being arranged within or on the floor, and optionally also in furniture. As in Figure 1 (not shown), the system comprises electrode plates 14 lying between the floor 12 and an insulating synthetic plastic floor lining 16, and also electrodes 24 in the furniture maintained at a less negative potential than the floor electrodes. The floor electrodes may alternatively be embedded in the floor covering and may extend only over those areas of the floor not covered by furniture. The D.C. potential is obtained from the mains supply through a transformer and a control device may be provided within the room to regulate the field produced. |
