PURPOSE:To conduct a test simply by using a scrambler and a descrambler of self synchronizing type used to make the arising probability of '1', '0' of normal data equal to constitute self-diagnostic functions. CONSTITUTION:A data input is fixed to '1' or '0', an output of a scrambler 10 is inputted to a modulator as it is and modulated. The output of a demodulator 21 is inputted directly to a descrambler 20 and an output being exclusive OR of the circuit 22 for the outputs of the descramblers 20 is sampled by a sampling circuit 23 and when there is no error, an output of consecutive '1s' or '0s' is obtained. If there is any error, the output is not consecutive, the pulse output is obtained and '1' and '0' appear at random as '101100' not being e.g., '000000' or '111111'. Thus, a decision discrimination whether or not the error exists is executed by a simple display circuit 24.
