PURPOSE:To prevent generation of any void and interior molding by setting a surface reducing ratio in a prescribed range at the time of manufacturing a multicore wire having a hexagonal section through an expansion process. CONSTITUTION:A good processing characteristic can be obtained by applying hydrostatic extrusion process to a composite body whose tube inside is filled with composite wires and spacers followed by performing an expansion process in a prescribed surface reducing ratio. In case of the surface reducing ratio of 17-19%, generation of any void can not be prevented, while in case of less than 17%, the form of a hexagonal section becomes imperfect. On the other hand, when 25% is exceeded, the expansion process becomes impossible due to breaking of a wire rod or the like so that the surface reducing ratio during the expansion process is necessary to be set in the range of 19-25%.
