PURPOSE:To extract a most suitable arc part adapted to the sort of original graphic and the use for the processing of the graphic by separately handling the devision processing of an arc and the coupling processing of the arc. CONSTITUTION:When the arc data on a broken line string extracted as an arc candidate in the broken line formed by approximating to the broken line and dividing into fine lines is inputted to an arc division processing part 1, the arc candidate is divided into the plural arc candidates by the arc devision processing part 1 based on a temporary radius and a temporary central point obtained for a broken line vector composing the arc candidate. When the arc data on the broken line string extracted as the arc candidate is inputted to an arc coupling processing part 2, the plural arc candidates are coupled one arc candidate by the arc coupling processing part 2 based on a temporary radius, a temporary central point and an end point obtained for the broken line string composing the plural arc candidates. These processing of the devision and the coupling can be mutually and separately executed.
