摘要 PURPOSE:To lower output of an internal combustion engine and to prevent an increase in running speed by starting the stop of fuel supply to some cylinders when a state where the running speed of a vehicle is larger than a preset reference value continues longer than a designated period of time. CONSTITUTION:When a state where the running speed of a vehicle detected by a car velocity sensor 1 is larger than a preset reference value stored in RAM in a micro-computer 5 continues more than a designated period of time set by a timer, a cylinder thinning-out command signal is generated from a micro-computer 5. A cylinder thinning-out control circuit 8 which receives the above command signal controls thinning-out of injection pulses generated from a fuel injection control circuit 7 according to the thinning-out rate of the cylinder thinning-out command signal taking four cycles of an engine 10 as a unit cycle. The thinned-out injection pulses are added to an injection valve driving circuit 9 to drive the respective injection valves to be opened, whereby the number of cylinders for supplying fuel is controlled. From the point of time, the number of cylinders to be substantially operated is decreased, so that output of the engine 10 is lowered to prevent increase in running speed of a vehicle.
