In a rotary compressor for a heat-removal or heat pump, the internal volume ratio should have a defined relationship with the pressure ratio of the compressor in order for optimum efficiency to be achieved. The internal volume ratio must therefore be capable of being varied for adaptation to full load and part load. In order to obtain the best efficiency with regard to load requirements, a means for regulating the internal volume ratio has been designed as a radially movable valve body 9 arranged so as to fit the "theoretically correct" outlet port 8. This outlet port in the shell wall of the working chamber of the compressor is delimited essentially by the plane of an outlet to the compressor and by cam surfaces of the interacting screws of the rotary compressor towards the outlet side. The radially movable valve body 9 has, so as to fit the outlet port, been designed with an apex line surrounded by concave surfaces arranged so as to adjoin with play the peripheral surface of the screws. In order for it to be possible to adapt the internal volume ratio to different load requirements, the valve body can consist of a number of V-shaped interacting parts arranged in a parallel manner. <IMAGE> |
