PURPOSE:To prevent eyes of a subscriber from being injured by a radiated light from a laser diode by providing an optical switch and cutting off a control voltage to an optical switch when an optical connector is disconnected so as to interrupt a radiated ray of the laser diode. CONSTITUTION:An optical switch SW is provided to the laser diode and the optical switch SW is conductive when a control voltage is applied thereto. The control voltage to the optical switch SW is supplied in the route of conduc tor 105 - conductor 106 - conductor 107 -optical switch SW from a voltage source 17. When the subscriber takes off a plug 103, the conductors 105, 107 are disconnected and no control voltage from the voltage source 17 to the optical switch SW is supplied. Thus, the optical switch SW is opened to cut off the radiated light of the laser diode LD. Thus, eyes of the subscriber are not injured without limiting the radiated light of the laser diode and damaging the laser diode. |
