PURPOSE:To reduce the initial cost and running cost of the title apparatus to a large extent as a whole by also using the linear light source and two-split reflecting mirror provided between two inspection lines adjacent to each other as the illuminators of both inspection lines. CONSTITUTION:An illumination apparatus 300 for inspection is constituted by providing plural sets of two-split reflecting mirrors 24-1, 24-2 in opposed relation to respective linear light sources 16. A plurality of linear light source images in a longitudinal direction are projected on the surfaces 110A2, 110B1 of the object to be inspected passing between inspection lines 10A, 10B on both sides as reflected indirect images 210, 210 from the reflecting mirrors 24. For example, plural rows of the direct images 200 and reflected indirect images 210 of linear light source images in the longitudinal direction are projected on the surfaces 110A2, 110B1 to be inspected of cars 100A, 100B in parallel. As a result, the disturbance of the brightness contrasts or linear light source images on the surfaces 110A2, 110B1 to be inspected is utilized to make it possible to visually inspect the surface flaws of the cars. Therefore, the number of the linear light sources 16 to be used can be reduced to a large extent. |
