PURPOSE:To convey an original to a precise position by providing a conveying section for conveying originals, a drive section for the former and the like on the exterior arrangement itself so as to obtain a flexibility, and by providing a spacing member for maintaining the space between a belt and an original loading bed at a constant value, on the rotary shaft of a roller for holding and driving the belt. CONSTITUTION:A conveying belt 10, belt drive rollers 15, 16, a belt drive motor 21, a control section 36, and the like are attached on the exterior arrangement of an automatic original conveying device 2 itself so as to have a flexibility. Further, space members 36, 37 for maintaining the space between the belt 10 and an original loading bed are provided on the rotary shafts of the rollers 15, 16. Further, the spacing members 36, 37 are made to abut against the loading bed or the exterior arrangement 8 of the copying machine holding the loading bed. Thus, by making the flexibility of the external arrangement 8 effective, the spacing members 36, 37 surely abuts against the loading bed or the like. Accordingly, even though the device 2 is twisted, the twist is corrected by the dead weight of the device 2, and therefore, it is possible to convey an original to a precise position.
