<p>In the steer house of the vessel is a personal computer (3) which has a printer (4), keyboard, screen (15) and floppy disc drives (17,18). The computer is fed with signals (5,6,7) from three transducers: one (8) which detects fuel flow (9) to the engine (10), one (11) which measures engine cooling water temperature and one (12) which measures the rotation speed of the vessel's screw (13). The computer has an internal clock, so that the integration of the fuel and screw rotation signals will give efficiency data. The computer also has plug-in memory modules (16). A memory module (16) may contain data specific to a particular vessel or skipper.</p> |
