Method and circuit for subdividing periodic analogue signals

A method for subdividing periodic analogue signals of an incremental measuring system is provided. Using the method, fast and accurate subdivision of the signals is achieved by means of a circuit of simple construction. The method operates without additionally obtained reference signals or converted signals. Two input signals are selected from the signals of the measuring system and compared in a comparator 5. The comparator 5 controls a counting pulse generator 7 and an address counter 6. In accordance with the decisions of the comparator 5 and of a frequency discriminator 10, the input signal pairs and the inputs of a counter 9 are selected to which the pulses of the counting pulse generator 7 are passed. <IMAGE>
