The invention relates to a fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine, which has a sealing element connected to a spring element and a centring element. In order to ensure the actuation of the fuel injection valve in a rapid sequence, it is proposed that the mass of the moving parts be minimised. To this end it is proposed to design the centring element as a diaphragm spring, in the centre of which the sealing element is arranged. The diaphragm spring may have a plurality of openings, which effectively prevent the occurrence of pressure differentials between upper side and underside of the diaphragm spring. <IMAGE>
