PURPOSE:To obtain an optical information recording medium having high performance and reliability, by providing a recording layer comprising a cationic light-absorptive coloring matter and a high molecular weight crown compound, on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:When a high molecular weight crown compound is incorporated into a recording layer provided by using a cationic light-absorptive coloring matter, the coloring matter is favorably dissolved in an organic solvent which does not attack a plastic substrate, and a homogeneous recording layer can be provided. In addition, an optical information recording medium having excellent environmental stability and high reliability can be obtained. The high molecular weight crown compound may be a homopolymer or copolymer of a monomer comprising a crown ether having O as a donor atom. The cationic light- absorptive coloring matter may be a polymethine coloring matter, a diphenylmethane or triphenylmethane coloring matter or the like. Particularly, when the crown group in the crown compound is used in an amount of 1 or 2 mol per 1 mol of the coloring matter, little lowering in the reflectance of a coated film is observed, and C/N is not lowered. |
