PURPOSE:To efficiently recover high grade kish graphite from molten pig iron contg. carbon in a satd. state, by agitating the molten pig iron to allow kish graphite suspended in the iron to float to the surface of molten slag and by collecting the floated kish graphite with a dust collector or the like. CONSTITUTION:Molten pig iron contg. carbon in a satd. state is agitated in a vessel to allow kish graphite separated by supersaturation to acceleratedly float to the surface of the molten pig iron or the surface of molten slag on the iron. The floated kish graphite is collected with a dust collector or the like. Thus, high quality kish graphite is efficiently recovered from the molten pig iron. |
