PURPOSE:To transfer an image wholly as it is onto a transfer recording paper, to prevent oil bleeding or the like from being left upon correction and prevent an image- forming layer from being exfoliated from a base, by providing an ink layer by an aqueous coating method, in a pressure-sensitive transfer recording medium having the ink layer comprising a binder polymer, a plasticizer and a coloring agent on the base. CONSTITUTION:An ink layer in a pressure-sensitive transfer recording medium having the ink layer comprising a binder polymer, a plasticizer for the polymer and a coloring agent on a base is provided by an aqueous coating method. A most preferable example of the binder polymer is an aqueous solution of a rigid polyester resin. The plasticizer may be a fatty acid emulsion, particularly, an oleic acid emulsion. The coloring agent is preferably, for example, a substance capable of being dissolved or dispersed in the plasticizer, having a color and being solid or semisolid at normal temperature. As the base, a polypropylene film is particularly preferable, the thickness of which is preferably 2-20 mum. A coating liquid for forming the ink layer is applied to the base by the aqueous coating method, followed by drying, whereby the ink layer having a thickness of 0.5-5 mum can be provided.
