PURPOSE:To maintain a favorable color forming property, improve color forming contamination due to contact, rubbing or the like and improve color forming contamination at the time of printing, by incorporating a styrene-butadiene copolymer latex having a specified monomer composition, polyvinyl alcohol and a styrene sulfonic acid polymer into a coating liquid for forming a coated layer of capsules having well films of a synthetic high molecular weight material. CONSTITUTION:A pressure-sensitive copying paper has a coated layer of microcapsules having wall films of a synthetic high molecular weight material and containing a hydrophobic substance comprising a coloring agent, on a base. A coating liquid for forming the coated layer of the pressure sensitive paper comprises a styrene-butadiene copolymer latex comprising 10-50 wt.% of styrene, 15-55 wt.% of butadiene, 10-40 wt.% of methyl acrylate and 0-15 wt.% of acrylonitrile together with polyvinyl alcohol and a styrene sulfonic acid polymer. By this, a pressure-sensitive paper is obtained which is excellent in color forming properties, rubbing resistance, heat resistance and light resistance, being extremely well-balanced in quality and having high quality. |
