The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for developing an electrostatic image.
<??>The apparatus comprises means for forming a layer of developer agent on the surface of a body carrying the developer agent, by pressing the developer agent 16 against the body carrying the developer agent 11, using a coating element 12, the said developer agent containing toner particles comprising a synthetic resin and additional particles which can be charged to a negative potential higher than the negatively-charged toner particles; and means for electrostatically depositing toner particles from the developer agent layer onto a latent electrostatic image formed on a body carrying the image 18, which faces the developer agent layer.
