PURPOSE:To simply prevent a fault caused by the dust by applying a lubricant which is the same kind as that used to a magnetic disk and has high affinity with the components of the magnetic disk to a mechanism part of an actuator. CONSTITUTION:An actuator holds a revolving magnetic disk 1 and a magnetic head 2 and sets the head 2 at an optional position on the disk 1. Then a lubricant of the same kind as that used to the disk 1 is applied to a mechanism part including an actuator bearing 10, a guide rail, etc. The lubricant applied to the disk 1 gives no damage to the disk even though it sticks to the disk 1 in the form of the dust. Thus the wear and the damage of a magnetic disk device can be avoided by using such a lubricant is applied to the dust generating parts.
