The thermal stability of ethylene/acrylic or methacrylic acid interpolymers is improved by mixing 0.01-3 wt.% of biphenylene phosphorous compd. and 0.01-3 wt.% of hindered phenolic antioxidant and/or 0.01-15 wt.% of dicarboxylic acid of formula (I) in the interpolymers. In (I), R is C1-24 aliphatic or aromatic gp.; R' and R" are amino, mercapto, phosphato, carboxyl, hydroxyl or H. The interpolymers are applicable to extruded films, blister and flexible packages, primers, binders, laminaets, and adhesives, etc..
