PURPOSE:To attain program searching precisely without sounding the preceding music by stopping the movement of a pickup at the detection of an inter-music space by a detector, and controlling a timer so that a stylus descends on a record disc when a detected point reaches just under the stylus point of the pickup with rotation. CONSTITUTION:When an optical sensor 11 detects an inter-music space in accordance with the defference of reflection factor an inter-music space detecting circuit is actuated and a plunger is also actuated, so that a lift descends the pickup 2. The optical sensor 11 and pickup 2 are moved from the external periphery to the internal periphery of the record disc at first, but the output of a motor controlling circuit is turned to a low level and the motor is stopped at the detection of the inter-music 12 by the optical sensor 11 (the status shown by the figure (a)). During the time t1, the pickup 2 starts to descend as the result of waiting (the status of the figure (b)). After passing the time t2, the stylus point 2a of the pickup 2 descends (the status of the figure (c)) on the record disc. After the time t3, a pickup controller starts to operate and the pickup 2 starts to move in accordance with the feeding pitches of grooves of the record. |
