PURPOSE:To execute the processes of compressing data in parallel in data compressors and the enhance the speed-up of the process of compressing image data by dividing one piece of image data into plural blocks and respectively inputted them in the data compressors in a block unit. CONSTITUTION:One piece of image data 1 is divided into plural blocks and the respective divided blocks are respectively inputted in a four data compressors 81-84, for example, which actuate in parallel so as to store them in areas provided for the respective blocks of a local memory 6. When the blocks 1-4 of the image data are compressed in terms of data in the corresponding data compressors 8 of the data compressors 81-84 to process compression of the blocks 1-4, the blocks 5-8 are processed in the corresponding data compressors of the data compressors 81-84. Since plural dat compressors actuate in parallel, thus, a compress processing time can be reduced in inverse proportion to the number of the data compressors. |
