The apparatus has a tube (1) in which provision is made for the capacitance of a capacitor (2) placed in the flow and having an electric field determined by a first test voltage to be measured within one measurement cycle in a first measurement. At the same time the capacitance of the capacitor (2) depends on the composition of the flowing medium via its relative permittivity and polarisation. In at least one further measurement of the capacitance, a different test voltage is chosen, as a result of which the polarisation of the molecules of some of the components is altered in a controlled manner. This results in a set of linearly independent equations. To alter the test voltage, an ohmic resistor (5) in series with the capacitor (2) is shunted by a low resistance. <IMAGE> |
