摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the generation amount of a waste regeneration liquid, by a method wherein a regeneration liquid having specific acid concn. is passed through an ion exchange tower packed with a strong acidic cation exchange resin from the lower part thereof at a specific flow speed in upward flow and, thereafter, desalted water is injected in said ion exchange tower at the same flow speed as mentioned above. CONSTITUTION:In regenerating a strong acidic cation exchange resin lowered in its ion exchange capacity, a regeneration liquid having acid concn. of 3-8wt.% is passed through an ion exchange tower packed with the resin from the bottom part thereof in upward flow at a flow speed of 2-4m/hr. Subsequently, desalted water is injected in the ion exchange tower from the bottom part thereof in upward flow at the same flow speed as the regeneration liquid of the previous process. Further, desalted water is again injected in upward flow at a flow speed of 4-10m/hr to regenerate the ion exchange resin. In this regeneration method, the ion exchange resin can be regenerated using the regeneration liquid having concn. higher than that of a conventional one without lowering the purity of treated water and the amount of the generated waste regeneration liquid can be reduced to a large extent.
