1,177,251. Incinerators. AMERICAN DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT CORP. 7 Feb., 1967 [11 March, 1966], No. 5752/67. Heading F4B. A refuse incinerator stack C is fed with air by two wind-boxes E 1 , E 2 at two levels by independently variable fans G1, G 2 . The tuyeres, which enter the stack tangentially and in a downward direction, may allow for enrichment of the air with oxygen (Figs. 3, 6, 7, 8). Refuse and solid fuel are charged by a shoot B, but gas, electricity, or oil firing may be used in place of solid fuel. Waste products, which are described as inorganic and may be less than 2% of the original volume of refuse are discharged via a residue trough F to a quenching pan 36 from which water is recirculated to a "wet cap" assembly 48, comprising a deflector 44 and fly ash screen 46. Specification 1,097,340 is referred to. |
