PURPOSE:To permit easy production and to improve tracking accuracy by consisting the tracking guides of a tracking guide layer of repeated patterns and disposing the respective adjacent pattern parts point-symmetrically with the virtual center point on the center line of tracks. CONSTITUTION:The tracking guide layer 12 and a recording layer 13 are laminated in this order on a substrate 11 and a protective layer 14 is provided thereon. The tracking guides of the information recording medium consist of the square repeated patterns 42a-42i... which are alternately provided on both sides of the center line 41 of the tracks and consist of the parts different in optical characteristic from the constituting material of the tracking guide layer. The respective adjacent pattern parts are so disposed as to have the point- symmetrical relation with the virtual center point 43 on the center line 41. The tracking guides of such optical information recording medium have the high measurement sensitivity. Since a large change in transmittance is thereby shown even to a slight deviation of a laser beam, the tracking accuracy is improved. |
