<p>An article carrier of the wrap-around type for beverage containers such as bottles (B) comprises top (20) and bottom (12,28,30) panels interconnected by spaced sidewalls (14,16, 18;22,24,26) to form a tubular structure and in which the carrier is formed with a slot (S1,S2) extending across the bottom panel and into both sidewalls towards, but stopping short of the top wall so that the carrier can be impalled upon a suitable partition (P1,P2) provided in a crate (80), the slot being bridged by a frangible bridging piece (98-108) to minimize relative distortion between portions of the carton adjacent either side of the slot, the bridging piece being positioned to be broken upon introduction of said partition into the slot.</p> |
