PURPOSE:To simplify a machining process, improve size precision, and to reduce a cost, by a method a composite electrolytic layer is electrodeposited on the surface of a base metal formed by a metallic material. CONSTITUTION:Since a pulley surface is formed by a composite electrolytic layer, an electrolytic layer is electrodeposited in a shape conforming to that of a base metal surface, and thereby a size can be precisely held. Further, since a metallic powdery material is mixed in the electrolytic layer, even if the layer is thin, enough capacity can be held in terms of function. Further, especially since after-processing, e.g. surface polishing is not needed after electrolytic treatment, a cost is reduced in term of a process, and stable operation is effected on a drive condition available in a relation with a belt.
