PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition having excellent ultraviolet-shielding property and improved heat-resistance and gas-barrierness and suitable for a container of food such as soy or container of cosmetic or drug, by adding a specific amount of a specific naphthalenedicarboxylic acid (derivative) to a base resin. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. of a thermoplastic polyester resin having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.5-2dl/g is compounded with >=0.001pt., preferably 0.01-5pts. of a naphthalenedicarboxylic acid (derivative) of formula I or formula II [R<1> and R<2> are H, alkyl, etc.; X is 0 or NR<3> (R<3> is halogen, etc.); A and B are halogen, hydroxyl, etc.; m and n are 0-3; m+n is 1-6; A and B are not carboxyl group at the same time].
