PURPOSE:To reduce the number of manufacturing process and improve the close contact of a door trim and a door trim base material by a method wherein the forming of a trim skin material, and the filling and foaming of foaming resin are done under the condition that an ornament base material, which is covered by an ornament, is arranged in a vacuum forming mold. CONSTITUTION:The outer surface and the outer peripheral part of the inner surface of an ornament base material 5 are covered with an ornament 4 or bonded, when necessary. The resultant ornament base material with the side of ornament 4 facing downward is set onto the ornament bearing surface 10A of a lower mold 8. A preheated trim skin material 2 made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) sheet or the like is arranged so as to cover the whole molding part 8A and, after that, the trim skin material 2 is vacuum-formed by setting an upper mold 9 on the trim skin material. Finally, foaming resin is fed onto the trim skin material 2 of the lower mold 8 and expanded by heating for molding under the condition that the position of the upper mold 9 is controlled and held so as to realize a molding part 9A held at the predetermined interval above the material 2 in order to bondingly form an elastic layer onto the rear surface of the trim skin material 2. The trim skin material, on which fixing projections 6 are molded at a negative-angle, is covered by the elastic layer, resulting in enhancing the fixing property of the projection. |
