For recording and reproducing broad band signals on magnetic tape, apparatuses with electromagnetic converters arranged on the circumference of head wheels or head drums are used. In order to define according to standards the magnetization range of each track, the electromagnetic converters have to be adjustable with very strict allowances in the radial, axial and circumferential direction of the head wheel or head drum and in their angular position. Known holding and adjusting devices allow such adjustments to be only imperfectly done or require too much space. The present holding and adjusting device is subdivided by slots located between both magnetic heads (8,9) and extending in the circumferential direction in such a way the spacing between the head gaps in the circumferential direction, their height relative to each other and the azimuthal angle of the head gaps can be adjusted by means of adjusting screws (16,22,23). The holding and adjusting device is particularly suitable for being arranged at the free end of a piezoelectric deflecting device (2).
