An electrical thermal bimetallic switch having a contact spring 4, operated by a bimetallic snap-action disc 8 which is arranged on the contact spring 4 in holders. One end of the bimetallic snap-action disc 8 is plugged in a holder consisting of two lugs 10 and 11, which are constructed on the sides of the contact spring 4 and are bent inwards, and the other end is pivoted into a slot 13, which is open at one end, in the lug 14, which extends on the contact spring 4, transversely with respect to its longitudinal direction, and is upright. In order to protect the bimetallic snap-connection disc 8 against sliding laterally out of the slot 13 in the lug 14, a further lug 15 (which is constructed on the contact spring 4 and is adjacent to the open end of the slot 13) is raised in order to close said slot 13. <IMAGE>
