PURPOSE:To make a paint film formed on a body to be painted thicker only at the part requiring a thick paint film, by preheating the part and carrying out painting by electrodeposition. CONSTITUTION:When a body to be painted such as a cold rolled steel sheet is painted, the part of the body requiring a thick paint film is preheated by immersion in hot water or other method and painting is carried out by electrodeposition. Since the preheated part has a high surface temp., electrophoresis and the diffusion of paint are accelerated on the part and a paint film is electrodeposited at an increased speed. Accordingly, the resulting paint film is made thicker at the preheated part than at the unpreheated part.
