Multilayer playing surface coverings, consisting of a synthetic turf with at least partial filling with sprinkled material, for example sand, tend to form hardened areas, so that a separate elastic layer is provided on which the synthetic turf is laid. The novel playing surface covering is to be simplified in its production and improved in its elasticity behaviour. In the case of this playing surface covering, the elastic layer (3) is arranged on the topside of the basic woven fabric (1) of the synthetic turf and the sprinkled material (4) is arranged on the elastic layer (3). The sprinkled material tends continuously to loosen. Low elastic layer thicknesses are sufficient. The elastic layer and the synthetic turf can be combined to form an integral floor covering which can be laid in one operation. Production of playing surface coverings. <IMAGE>
