PURPOSE:To enable easy decoloration and/or dissolution of a silver halide photographic sensitive material as well as to impart photographically chemical inactivity to a silver halide sensitive material in a photographic processing by incorporating a kind of water-soluble dye having an auxochrome having <=5.0pKa into the photographic sensitive material. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide photographic sensitive material contg. at least one kind of dye having an auxochrome having <=5.0pKa is used. The dyes of this kind exhibit appropriate hue when the auxochrome contained therein is dissociated. Preferred dyes are aromatic azo dyes having substituted OH group, or heterocyclic aromatic azo dyes having substituted OH group. By this constitution, a silver halide photographic sensitive material having a hydrophilic colloid layer contg. a novel dye decoloring in the photographic processing and having no adverse effect on the photographic characteristics of photographic emulsion, particularly on the spectral sensitizing characteristics, is obtd. |
