PURPOSE:To obtain a copy, on which a code is superposed in a color other than black, with an easy operation in a simple constitution by providing a device which copies display variable designated characters and/or numerals in a position, which overlaps the original information of a black copy, in a color other than black. CONSTITUTION:Characters and numerals of a desired code are inputted to a character generating part 17 by using a character input board 18. When a start button 15 is depressed at a second time after the depression of a two-color copy button 14 is depressed, a control part 16 controls the character generating part 17 to supply a voltage to a code display board 3 for the time required for the formation of an electrostatic latent image so that the desired code is displayed as an opaque part (black) on the code display board 3. An image forming body 1 on which the electrostatic latent image of the code is formed is developed with the toner of a color other than black by a developing device 7A to form a toner image. Meanwhile, a first resist roll 104 is temporarily stopped after black copying, and a transfer paper P is supplied at the same timing as the image forming process, and a red toner image is transferred on the transfer paper P by a transfer electrode 8, and the transfer paper P is separated and the image is fixed.
