PURPOSE:To effectively utilize the blank part of a video by displaying the past optional frame of the video of a present standard television as plural small display screens on the right or left blank part of a display screen where the video is not displayed and reducing the unnaturalness and the ugliness of the whole display screen. CONSTITUTION:When the video of the present standard television is displayed on a high definition television receiver, the length of the video on the display screen is arranged the same as the display screen not to miss the top end and the bottom end of the video on the display screen and one of the both sides of the display screen is arranged to be the blank part where the video is not displayed. Then the right or left side part on the display screen where the main video is not displayed can be effectively utilized by allowing an user to display the past optional frame of the video 13 of the present standard television selected with the aid of an auxiliary remote control device as the plural small display screens.
