PURPOSE:To ensure a fuel feed state optimum to the running state of an engine, by a method wherein a change in orientation of an engine is detected, and according to the detecting result, an amount of fuel fed to an engine is regulated. CONSTITUTION:When an outboard machine 10, containing a propeller unit mounted inclinably between a trim down position and a trim up position, is applied to the stern plate of a ship, an angle sensor 32,detecting the trim angle of the propeller unit with a built-in engine, is mounted as an engine orientation detecting means. An output signal from the trim angle sensor 32 is inputted to a CPU 41 together with outputs from other sensors 33-36. In an engine orientation increase mode, based on an output signal from the trim angle sensor 32, duty control is made on a solenoid valve 26, situated in the fuel feed amount regulating pipe of a carburetor, so that an engine orientation increase stored in a memory is executed.
