PURPOSE:To concurrently insert or pull out upper and lower rolls and to reduce the roll changing time by installing supporting rollers and a travel roller on upper and lower chocks of work rolls, guiding the work rolls through the above rollers, and inserting or pulling out the work rolls. CONSTITUTION:A couple of upper and lower chocks 11, 12 are put on both shaft end parts of a pair of upper and lower work rolls 1a, 1b, respectively. A supporting roller 13 is set on the upper chock 11 and a vertically movable supporting roller 14 and a travel roller 15 are set on the lower chock 12. At the time of changing rolls, the roller 14 of the chock 12 moved up to abut on the roller 13 of the chock 11 and the roller 15 is moved down to be in contact with an intermediate roll 2b and to travel on the roll 2b. Thus, the couple of the work rolls 1a, 1b are concurrently inserted or pulled out to reduce the roll changing time.
