PURPOSE:To obtain the titled foam suitable as ceiling material for automobiles, etc., light weigh properties, rigidity, insulating properties, sound absorbing qualities, etc., by emulsifying an NCO component into water to give an emulsion, impregnating open-cell nonrigid foam wit the emulsion and molding by heating and curing. CONSTITUTION:First an isocyanate component is emulsified, suspended or dispersed in water. Then the emulsion or suspension is impregnated into open-cell nonrigid foam (preferably non-rigid polyurethane foam), the impregnated foam is heated and cured generally by hot-pressed preferably at 100-150 deg.C and molded to give the aimed foam. The blending ratio of the isocyanate component and water is 10-50pts.wt. water based on 100pts.wt. isocyanate. The impregnated foam is preferably molded with a surface layer material such as cloth, etc., in an integrated way.
