<p>A ground-travelling paver (10) for spreading aggregate over a surface includes a collecting hopper (30) for receiving material from a dump truck. Rotating discs (56, 58) form a portion of the floor of the collecting hopper (30). On operation of the discs (56, 58) aggregate is moved to cascade from a rear edge (52) of the collecting hopper (30) into a feed hopper (124, 120, 118). Material flows from the feed hopper (30) to a region in advance of a screed (100) in the paver. The collecting hopper (30) is also tiltable fully to clean aggregate therefrom.</p> |
